PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER IN CLARKSTON, MI
MEET KASEY
Who am I? Well... for almost 15 years, I had a high-level marketing career – and truly loved it. However, when my son was born, I quit my job and stayed home.
I am super grateful for the time I had with him. Any of you parents out there know you just can’t replace those moments.
But I was also really lost.
I was beyond buried in diapers and dishes… and I clearly remember the day when I had literally done NOTHING but wash & fold clothes. I turned around, ran into a full hamper and started crying.
It was then that I fought that powerful mom guilt and gave myself permission to want more.
I found photography. Or maybe it found me...

I started taking photos of my son...
and then my friends… and then their friends… and this accidental little business started.
Photography became this purpose I didn’t even know I needed.
Today, I am returning to my roots, blending marketing AND photography to tell stories with my camera.
Life is short, guys. What a blessing it is to be able to do what I love for a living : )

I almost ALWAYS have an audiobook running -- and have surprisingly strong jigsaw skills (not at all helpful in real life)

Eat a warm chocolate chip cookie and try not to feel better. I dare you.
YOU ARE NEVER READY.
START ANYWAY.
I have been a struggling perfectionist forever. It is VERY hard for me to do anything without feeling 100% prepared. But that doesn't work anymore. "Done is better than perfect". Take a baby step and take action!
IN EXPERIENCES OVER STUFF.
Book the vacation. Learn something new. Take the walk. Especially when you don't feel like it. Maybe it's my age (or a house full of clutter I don't need), but I am finding experiences more and more valuable these days : )
WE ARE ALL A LITTLE AWKWARD.
Unless you have the confidence of a 4yr old girl, getting in front of the camera is nerve-wracking. But it is SO NORMAL!! I've got you!
DETAILS MATTER.
I have ALWAYS loved the details. Little toes covered in frosting... or bigger hands holding a graduation tassel. I love it all. Details tell so much of our story.
