Braeden is no stranger. I've come to know his family well as they live a couple doors down. But going through the process of creating his senior portraits allowed me to get to know him on a whole different level.
Lacrosse. Cello. Skier. Brother. Scout. And now... Graduate 🎓
There is a LOT to this guy's story. And I am honored to have been a part of documenting it 🩷
We began Braeden's session at Clarkston High School. After years and years playing Lacrosse, it was a no-brainer that featuring the sport as a part of his senior story was a must.
It is always fun when we can include the specific location, props and clothing to help bring the chapter to life in photos.
TIP: Putting kids in an environment where they are comfortable and familiar is ALWAYS a bonus! It puts them at ease and is a shortcut to those natural expressions : )
Braeden is a big fan of the outdoors. Maybe it's all the years in scouts. Or the time he spent hiking with friends and family. But having photos in nature was important.
The park we chose served as a beautiful, neutral backdrop. One where HE could stand out -- and allowed us to involve his pup.
Special guest, Maverick : )
TIP: Shy boys? Bring the dog! Works every time. : )
Braeden has been in the orchestra since 6th grade. It was important to his family that his cello get a little stage time during his session.
We found the cutest little gazebo in the park where he could sit with his instrument.
That golden light that people talk about in photos? It's a real thing. So soft and flattering. I just love it. And sunset at this particular park in Clarkston is always one of my favorite places for senior photoshoots.
And with Braeden being a fan of all things water.... yep, we had to make sure to capture a few shots on the dock before the sun set on session night.
Spring of senior year is often a crazy whirlwind. But it happens ONCE.
One season.
One walk across that stage.
One chance in that cap and gown.
I was so glad when Braeden's family chose to circle back for a spring photoshoot and honor his milestone with a cap and gown session.
They will never forget how senior story ended 🎓
TIP: Having cap & gown photos done AHEAD of graduation night takes all the pressure off of mom and dad! Sit back and enjoy the celebration!
Thank you again for allowing me to be a part of your graduation story. I know you will continue to do AMAZING things and I cannot wait to hear all about it!
Bowling Green is lucky to have you! ✈️
If your child will be busy with sports, clubs or other activities once school starts, keep that in mind when timing their senior photoshoot. July and August are always the most popular months for Michigan seniors.
